The largest collection of antique Delft tiles

Product information

We have more than 45 years of experience in collecting, buying and selling antique Dutch Delft tiles. Thanks to the knowledge we gained through out the years we have set a high standard of the tiles we offer on our website. Each product shown on this website comes with additional product information (when available) such as the city it was made in (factory), the condition of the tile, the size and a detailed description of the painted image on the tile. Sometimes we are even able to tell you which painter was involved.

The size of the tile is displayed in centimeters and inches. The size is always approximately, but in general each tile is around 13 by 13 centimeters. This comes down to 5.1"by 5.1".

The period the tile was made in. This can partly be determined by looking at the thickness of the tile and the way the displayed object has been painted.

During the past centuries there were many factorties all across the Netherlands where tiles were made. Although all these factories made the same kind of product, the fact that they were hand made and hand painted gave each city/factory a different signature. Thanks to these differences, we are often able to determine the city the tile was made in. Famous factories were located in Delft, Harlingen, Rotterdam and Amsterdam.

Many tiles survived the past centuries in a good condition, but some of them did get damaged in various ways. When a tile or a mural is restored, we will let you know. Of course, do not hesitate to ask us for more information about the way it has been restored.
